Awesome weekend pt.2 (Sunday – 16 Dec 2012)

Posted in Events, Sibu Drifting on December 25, 2012 by Stanley Carter

First thing that came to my mind when I woke up in the early morning was “IT’S ABOUT BLOODY TIME WE HAVE SOME PROPER DRIFTING IN SIBU!!” Yeeee Hah~!!

I’ve arrived at the agreed venue at 9am and immediately I saw the trailer with all 4 cars that have been in action since yesterday in Bintulu, while I was there the workers have already started unloading the vehicles, while some of my local friends have already arrived earlier to check out the action later on.  Someone even offered to sponsor for a professional video recording crew for the occasion, crazy but awesome, haha!

Long story short, I’ll let the following video do the talking (it’s almost an hour long though):

The session ended around 11:30am and the Kuching guys had to pack up and depart on their way home to Kuching.  I had a BLAST and the time of my life during that morning, there were a few things that made me go NUTS:

1. Finally twin car donut

2. Tsuiso, HELL YEAH!!!

3. The feeling of companionship, finally some other guys that REALLY drifts!

4. Drifting the most expensive car I’ve ever driven: Nissan 350z auto

These are some of the first for me and boy was I super satisfied and HAPPY.  I’m glad I’ve made the trip to Bintulu and met up with these new friends from Kuching, or else all of these wouldn’t have happened, and during this morning, we’ve made some more new friends as well whom I think can really help to push the scene for greater exposure and hopefully attract more to join.

I can say that Sarawak drifting is definitely moving at the right direction, albeit a slow one, but at least it’s a start.

Big thanks to all those that’ve assisted and involved to make this happen, and hopefully something like this will happen again very soon, go go Sarawak drift! ^_^

Automatic 350z Smoky Drift!

Posted in Sibu Drifting on December 16, 2012 by Stanley Carter

First time driving a 350z, despite being an automatic, it’s still FREAKIN AWESOME!!

Long post coming up soon, had an amazing weekend, so much to tell, so much to share, so much joy! Stay tuned! 😀

Altezza (automatic) Choku Dori

So this was what I did last weekend:

Again it’s an automatic, seems like all the friends who tend to let me drift their cars are all automatics, when can I drift a manual? haha!

Btw, in case any of you ask, no, it’s not the same Altezza that I drifted before.

In Car Camera Phone Holder

Bought myself a RM12 in car handphone holder, works great for recording some in car footage, here’s a short one I did couple weeks ago:

Currently short on funds so gonna stay low for a while, when I’m financially ready for more tires, rest assured there will be more in car footage to share.

And while we’re at it, here’s another video a friend of mine shot when I attempt the human cone donut:

Forming a group

Posted in Sibu Drifting on May 3, 2012 by Stanley Carter

I’ve setup a Facebook Group for anyone that’s interested in Drifting in my local town (only), just to bring in more new bloods, Sibu obviously has quite a number of hesitant drifters to be that needed a bit more push, so with that said, seems like my effort has not gone to vain.

Although our group is still small, but at least we got cars coming in, meet ups and practise sessions have been carried out couple times in the past few months as well, so it’s a good start.

Here are some of the pictures and videos of other Sibu drifter rides parked as well as in action:

4AGE 16v Toyota AE70:

As you can see from both the YT videos above, both cars need to have their rear shocks replaced/upgraded, it’s just too soft at the moment.

There’s also a Celica with SR20DET which is currently having brake issues which will be rectified soon, so hopefully I’ll bring up some more videos of these cars in better form.

I forgot…

..to update this blog, again!

So, last month, a friend of mine who came back from Singapore wanted to experience drifting, so I picked Sunday morning and called a couple of friends to join, and here’s a video:

And here’s a couple of pictures by Eric Tan:
