2WD vs 4WD

Posted in Sibu Drifting on June 16, 2009 by Stanley Carter

I had a blast last Sunday.  I invited some friends to come join my drift practise + photoshoot session.  I had 2 extra pairs of spare tires prepared but I only used up 2 of them, thanks to the surprised rain.

Here are some cool photos my friend took:

You can tell by the following picture that I was really enjoying every bit of the action!

And here’s a shot that was setup intentionally while I aim my rear wheels at a small puddle, I liked how this picture turned out in the end, I liked it that much that it’s now my new signature image on forums that I frequent to:

As the title of this post implies, it’s all about 2WD vs 4WD!  While I had fun drifting my trusty old Charmant, a friend of mine brought out his newly purchased Lancer Evo 2 (with Evo 3 converted body) and insisted to have me drift this 4WD power sedan.  Needless to say, I kept my right foot heavy to keep this baby sliding and it was such a joy!  Check out the pictures:

Drifting 4WD was an awesome experience, the 260+hp from the 4G63T provides plenty of power to keep all its wheels spinning, and due to its 4WD personality, the car NEVER spins and requires zero to minimum counter steering works during a drift, cool shit!

And guess who came and visited us after the rain stopped, a Nissan Fairlady 350Z! *Sluuuurp*

The car was rolling on 20″s and looks squeaky clean, too bad the owner has no intentions in getting his precious ride sideways, however, he did sat in my Charmant and took off a few rounds, don’t know how deep was he poisoned though…LOL!

And to sum this post up, I present to you a simply compiled Youtube video of the day’s action:

Burnt rubbers…

Posted in Sibu Drifting on June 3, 2009 by Stanley Carter

What do you expect from a drifter wannabe when he has nothing else better to do during the 2 days Gawai Holiday?

3 burnt rubbers

3 burnt rubbers

This was what I did yesterday, a total of 3 tires wasted in less than an hour, and surprisingly, most of the time spent was on tire changing (I’m slow, mkay?)

I was having fun alone in my usual playground, it was a REAL hot afternoon, the tires gave way real fast, and my 4AGE water temp rises as fast as a rocket!

Here’s a look on my Charmant chilling out under the blazing sun:

Remember last Christmas when my wife bought me a pair of racing gloves?  it was put to good use, Zamil once requested me to write some feedbacks on how well the gloves do its job when driving an actual car since he had the same pieces as mine.

Well, I’ll make it short, it’s good.

……

………..

LOL!  Ok, yes it is good, it grips well, though it ain’t a perfect fit to my hands, but it works great on my cheapo steering and the shift knob!  And it works great by protecting my hands while changing tires.  Here’s a look on my gloves on the steering itself:

The only downside is that I can’t operate my damn hp while I had my gloves on, damn! LOL!

And to sum this post up, I present to you my favorite DCM face towel which is used to wipe the dirt and sweat off my pretty face:

I just loved the smell and feel of it when it’s rub against my face….. mmmmmm~~

Ken Block Madness!

September 2008, Ken Block, a very talented Rally Driver from the US released a Gymkhana video and it blew everyone away, and I’m sure many of you motorheads have already seen it as well:

Well guess what, after that extremely popular video released, Ken Block and DC Shoes have been busying working up on the sequel, Ken Block’s Gymkhana II – The Infomercial, and its finally out now!  If you think the first one was crazy, this one is pure MADNESS, is there any word that can top up the meaning of ‘AWESOME’ness in the dictionary, that is how great this following video is, do check it out:

What? You shit your pants?  It’s ok, me too.
