Maybe not, but pretty darn close if you ask me.
Due to the flood, not much can be done except eat, sleep, and work. Fortunately, my house and the office that I work in doesn’t have much of a flood problem as compared to many other areas, therefore I can still travel through and back the office effortlessly, with a few traffic jam occassions. So yeah, I do consider myself pretty lucky, but can’t say the same in the next few years, considering the fact that the suckass government hasn’t done much after receiving a huge fund, I can already foresee the flood problem in Sibu is just going to get worse. Enough talk, come check out some of the poor pictures I’ve taken since January 2009 when flood hits Sibu:
Seeing how there’s plenty of flood pictures on the town and other more serious locations, I guess I’m just gonna post the places where I usually passes by everyday, do bear in mind that these areas usually do not flood at all though. The above picture was taken in my Viva, sorry about the ‘hairy’ reflection, LOL!
This is the lane to my home, the driveway has been covered by air longkang, not so much to worry about though.
The above pictures were taken in my house, flood water coming into my garage and all, and this was still during a sunny afternoon, but lucky the water subsided during the evening and never came up since (these pictures were taken during January).
This month (February), the flood is still haunting Sibu, here is a picture I’ve taken when I was waiting outside of my spouse’s office, which is located around Jalan Sungei Merah:
And last night, me and my wife also visited my Mother-in-Law’s house, this is Lorong Lai Chee, check out the BIG difference, road? longkang? mana?
However, the flood water seems to be subsiding (not entirely) as I was posting this entry, news have predicted that the high tide would be within this few coming days, I just hope that places like Kapit do not rain anymore, just imagine how worse it would get if high tide + rain… damn, it’s gonna be disastrous~ *gulp*
