2 rust mobiles in Sibu!

I’ve mentioned the white AE70 that my wife’s younger bro owns before, well the car is now in the same body shop that my car’s rust and body were being repaired at.

If you think the rusts on my Charmant’s was pretty bad, wait till you check out this AE70, I don’t think any words can better describe the condition of this AE70’s body other than “horrible”, but nevertheless, you just have to look at it for yourselves:

omg rust!

holy rust!

The horror!

Just check out those bigass holes that those rusts had eaten up, its a horrible sight, scary too!  To think that this car is even drivable on the road is indeed a disturbing thought, LOL!  But anyhow, my wife’s younger bro insisted that the AE70 to be fully restored!  Of course, there will be a whole lot of welding to be done, the entire body is infested with rust, and according to the welding foreman, this car won’t be done before CNY, and the entire repair will most likely cost more than RM2k, d-d-d-dayyuummnn!  I mean, if this is my car, I wouldn’t even bother to repair it anymore, seriously.

Alright, lets move on to another ‘better’ conditioned but more exciting AE70 shall we?  Back at the paint shop in which my Charmant is currently residing at, there’s another red colored AE70 parked at the very front of the shop:

Nice red AE70!

Nice red AE70!

The car is owned by a Malay from the local military camp, only got to met him once and as he stated, he ain’t getting this car into drifting, the moment I heard that, I was like “WTF!” LOL!  But yeah, that’s usually what my reaction is whenever I found out anyone owning a car like that equipped with a 4AGE is not into drifting (I know, sounds like a bad habit!).  Anyhow, as I just mentioned, this car is indeed equipped with a 4AGE 20v in it (suhweeet!), gearbox remained stock as it fits the 4AGE just fine since AE70 uses 3U engine, and no LSD were fitted just yet as the owner is still looking for one (good luck on that though), so lets check out more pictures:

This AE70 is definitely riding it sexier than my Charmant with a set of 15″ SSR mesh rims, looks cool on this red AE70.

However, this car ain’t free of rust too, the condition on the body is rather bad, and is in need of immediate treatment as soon as possible, though I must say that the condition of this AE70’s body still doesn’t beat the white AE70 that I mentioned above, that one is definitely off the charts.

Trueno?

The owner found some cool emblems and stick’em all up on the back of his ride, which looks pretty cool nonetheless.  Although you may spot a white ‘TE71’ wording on the left rear lights, but the car is indeed an AE70, a deeper look on the chassis number proves that.

Anyhow, above are two of the AE70s in Sibu that are currently going separate paths, the white one is currently in body restoration progress while the red one is still finding parts to complete the upgrades, too bad both of the owners aren’t into drifting, sigh!

I think old school cars look best with old school rims (obviously), try and look for RS Watanabes or Long Champs, should look great on your car (and any old schoolers).
Btw, do visit http://www.drift.com.my as well if you haven’t, and mind telling me more about your ride? ^^

  4. Automobile is American for a car but the way it is today, when l saw the title of your post, l thought you were going to talk about handphones. LOL! I think if l hang around here long enough, l’ll learn a new set of vocab. Before, l didn’t even know what ‘Tokyo drift’ was, only knew the song! 🙂

  5. Siew Huat: Yeah I’m FooChow. Nice old school rims are hard to come by here in Sibu, I guess the demands were too low. Miri has quite a few active drifters around isn’t it? And you guys have a damn nice Go Kart track! Did you get to drift there?

STP: Haha! rustmobile, batmobile, you get the idea, LOL!

  6. Siew Huat Says:

yeah.. theres a go kart track in miri but our old school car no chance to get in there.. haha.. onli those nice car can get in lo.. something like nissan silvia, skyline like tat.. they can get into there easily.. can i know wat heart beat u transplant into ur ride?

  7. SH: My Charmant is currently equipped with 4AGE 16V only, together with AE86 LSD axle. You can check my older post. ^^
